Your document library
Documents, recognized text, summaries, avatars, location photos and voice notes are stored on your device. DocShelter has no developer-operated document server, advertising or behavioral analytics. OCR and AI analysis run on the device; document contents are not sent to cloud AI.
Local AI resources
The full app includes text and image AI resources and does not download them from third-party providers. If resources are missing, update the app through the App Store. Compatible local file imports remain supported. Document analysis stays on your device.
Permissions and system features
Photo access is used for the images you select or authorize for album organization. Camera and microphone access are requested for capture and voice notes. Notifications are optional. Face ID authentication is handled by iOS; DocShelter does not receive biometric templates. Optional system search indexing follows your in-app setting.
Sharing and backups
Files leave the app when you choose to share, export or save a backup. The receiving app or storage service then handles them under its own rules. Encrypted vault backups use the password you choose; original and portable exports can be unencrypted. iOS device backups may include app data according to your system settings. DocShelter does not automatically upload documents to cloud AI.
Your choices and deletion
You can change permissions in iOS Settings, disable optional features, edit or delete records, restore items from Recently Deleted, and permanently delete them. Copies already exported, shared or included in device backups must be managed separately. Removing a copy in DocShelter does not delete the source in Photos or Files.

Purchases
Apple processes payments. DocShelter uses verified purchase records on the device to unlock Pro; it does not receive your payment card details or send documents for purchase verification. Purchase restoration and local document backup restoration are separate.
